I like Carol Dunn also love color and texture found in nature. Dunn has also recently included technology in her work. I also love the use of technology. I take photographs and manipulate them in photoshop to come up with ideas on what I want to paint. Sometimes I even take my paintings and put them in photoshop so I can play with color and textures. Dunn uses printmaking and collage and transparent images similar to my work. I like her use of different textures and would like to incorporate more of a variety of textures in my next pieces. I like the original ways that she uses printmaking. In the second painting she created this image by scanning several of the silk monotypes then combined the images in Photoshop, and altered the way the layers interacted with each other. The result was 3 variations of the image--which she then printed on black paper that I had painted with white acrylic paint. I like her variance of printing. I want to work more with printmaking using a variety of techniques. This work has really inspired me.
